Seans brother Mick gave me my start as a ballad singer in The Embankment in 1971. I had the pleasure of knowing Mick and meeting Sean seceral times. They were both lovely people. J.D. td told me about the festival during a night out at Listowel Races and I wish the Festival every success. I really enjoyed Saturday nights Ballad Competition showing the strength of talent that Ireland has to offer throughout. The winning song was a beautifully written song and was performed by a very talented young lady 'Emma Reynolds' who has an absolutely beautiful voice. Best of luck Emma & Susan.
